As a trained scientist, I am an active pursuant of research to make informed decisions.
In an effort to make science more enjoyable in Kenyan schools, I helped found FunKe Science whose make goal is to make science fun for kids. I am in charge of the managerial aspects of this startup. I've had a fulfilling career working on various challenging projects, but one that stood out was leading the implementation of program strategies for knowledge synthesis, monitoring and evaluation, and communications and engagement strategies. It was exciting to design and develop science learning kits while gathering user feedback from 2000 users. During the pandemic, I delivered technical assistance on hardware and software recommendations and led software engineering and agile teams to achieve our goals for an online monitoring and problem-solving platform. Lastly, I created a guided pipeline for content creation and documentation for digital tools and resources. This experience taught me a lot about executing a successful project and I'm grateful for the opportunity.
My duties at ESBC involved data analysis, handling enquiries, report writing among other activities.
Volunteered to entertain children with science at this annual festival.
